This high profile shark conservation campaign is Aquaria KLCC’s second conservation campaign with the objective to address the declination of sharks.
The objective of this campaign was to create awareness by educating the community on the importance of maintaining a balanced marine ecology system that involves sharks.
Visitors were urged to participate in the campaign Sign for my Survival program where they can make a pledge to SAY NO to shark fin soup.
As a result, we have collected 60,000 pledges and signatures which will be handed over to the Ministry of Agriculture and Agro-Based Industry in the hopes that the government will ban shark finning in Malaysian waters.
Recently, we celebrated World Ocean Day with award winning celebrity chef and restaurateur, Bobby Chinn. He shared with us a sumptuous alternative to shark fin soup using sustainable seafood. As a chef, he has a unique opportunity to influence seafood consumption among consumers in a positive way. We were privileged to host this event and look forward to the celebration again next year.

We have had very supportive partners for our campaigns. Each of our partner organisations was thoroughly committed to the cause and contributing in their own special way towards conservation efforts. We thank them for their support and look forward to future collaborations.
