This campaign was launched on the 17th of May 2007. Our conservation partners are Media Prima, The Body Shop and The Royal Mint of Malaysia. Our research partners comprised of the Department of Fisheries Malaysia and Universiti Malaysia Terengganu.
Blue Ocean, Green Action was first conceived by Aquaria KLCC to pay tribute to World Ocean Day. It has become our signature awareness campaign in which we strive to educate the young about the importance of wildlife, the environment and its relationship with people. Conservation efforts are also highlighted especially during this campaign.
In our first campaign, we focused on how the action of humans can lead to the destruction of the environment. The following year, we strived to create awareness about sea turtles and sharks as part of marine biodiversity. For the third year (2013), we focused on one of the simplest animals on earth but collectively can grow so big that they are visible from space! The animal in question was the humble coral.
